Kersti Sandin, Lars Bülow

Kersti Sandin
She was born in 1950. Interior architect and specialist of industrial design. In 1977 she graduated from Stockholm University, College of Arts and Design. Professor of Gothenburg University since 2005.
Kersti is the Board member of the Swedish Architect Association, and member of the Swedish Fund of Industrial Design Swedish Governmental Board of Architecture and Design, and Swedish Wood Center.

Lars Bülow
Lars Bülow was born in 1952, interior architect and specialist of industrial design, in 1975-1978 he was studying at Stockholm University, College of Arts and Design.
Since 1978 Kersti and Lars have been working as designers in the area of Swedish furniture and illumination industry, and in 1992 they established the company of designer-made furniture Materia.

Kersti and Lars have received many awards in the design’s area (SIR/Forum Prize in 1983, the Forsnäs Prize in 1985, Best in Show - Designers Saturday 1999, Framtidens Mötesplats (Meeting Place of the Future) in 2003). In 1983-2000 they were awarded even 19 times and they were nominated twice in the international Red Dot awards.

The works of Kersti and Lars are presented as the examples of collections of modern design in the National Museum in Stockholm, Museum of Design and Applied Arts in Gothenburg, and in the Museum of Applied Arts in Cologne.
